I started The Reel Tech two decades ago with a simple idea: fishermen deserve a reel tech who actually fishes. Someone who understands that when your drag stutters on a hot steelhead, or your bail doesn't close clean on a long cast — that's not a minor annoyance. That's the difference between a fish in the net and a story about the one that got away.

Over 20 years, I've built this business one reel at a time. No employees, no middlemen. When you send me your gear, I'm the one who takes it apart, cleans it, inspects every component, and puts it back together. That's personal accountability you won't find at a factory service center.

What I Work On

Everything from small freshwater spinning reels to offshore 2-speed big game reels. Shimano, Abu Garcia, Penn, Daiwa, Okuma — all makes, all models. I also build custom fishing rods to exact specifications and hand-tie premium steelhead and salmon jigs.

What Drives Me

I'm a fisherman first. I fish the Rogue, I fish the coast, I chase steelhead and salmon with the same gear my customers use. That's why I understand that no fisherman should be without their tools longer than necessary. Fast turnaround isn't a marketing promise — it's respect for your time on the water.

After 20 years and thousands of satisfied customers, I'm still doing this for the same reason I started: I love fishing, I love the gear, and I take pride in keeping yours working perfectly.
